Our Story

Degreed Urban Foresters Rooted in Galveston Island

Texas A&M trained urban foresters with 15+ years caring for Gulf Coast trees — live oaks, palms, and everything in between.

Who We Are

We're Not a Tree Removal Company. We're Tree Doctors.

Galveston Arborist was founded on a simple but uncommon premise: that trees deserve the same level of professional, science-based care that we give to any other living system we value. We are consulting arborists — trained diagnosticians who assess, treat, and preserve trees rather than simply remove them.

Our team holds degrees in Urban Forestry from Texas A&M University — one of the nation's premier programs for tree science and urban ecosystem management. That foundation shapes everything we do, from how we diagnose a declining live oak to how we design a long-term preservation program for a historic property.

We built this practice specifically for the Gulf Coast — because Galveston's trees face challenges that require specialized knowledge. Salt spray, hurricane stress, flooding, sandy soils, and extreme heat demand a different kind of expertise than inland tree care.

What Guides Us

Our Core Values

These principles aren't marketing language — they're the operating philosophy that shapes every site visit, every report, and every recommendation we make.

Science First

Every diagnosis and treatment recommendation is grounded in peer-reviewed research, ISA standards, and evidence-based arboriculture.

Preservation Over Removal

We exhaust every preservation option before recommending removal. Saving a mature tree is almost always the right ecological and economic choice.

Honest Counsel

We tell you what your trees actually need — not what generates the most billable work. Our reputation is built on trust, not upselling.

Coastal Expertise

Gulf Coast trees face unique stressors: salt air, hurricane damage, flooding, and compacted soils. We've built our practice around these specific challenges.

Aggie-Trained Excellence

Texas A&M's Urban Forestry program is among the nation's finest. Our training gives us a depth of knowledge that sets us apart from general tree services.

Long-Term Thinking

We build relationships with properties over years and decades — monitoring tree health, adjusting programs, and protecting your landscape investment.
